Arnaud Savioz's unintentional SFX vol.1: Unpleasant noises you might wanna salvage
==================================================================================
These files are random recordings of happy accidents that happened to me in my
home studio.
I only keep them around because I develop video games, where they can be a good
source of SFX, especially as very short splices.
I only share them because I have no reason not to. I don't expect people to
find a lot of value in them.
Because all these sounds come from musical experimentation gone very unmusical,
there is not a very wide range of sounds here.
Most likely usages: abstract GUI sounds, sci-fi sounds, abstract fantasy sounds,
scary ambiances.
**Creativity and boring editing work will be required of you to make these files
into something useful.** I can't alter the sounds I provide to make them more
suitable to you: they were, like I said, happy accidents, that I didn't bother
to save after recording. I generally have no clue how to reproduce them.
I hope I've done a good enough job of keeping your expectations low. **Do not
bother with the download if you fear I might waste your time.**
In the files I share, the sound sources are always synthesizers, my original
audio (as in, making weird noises in the mic), or my electric guitar; all
performed live, and so mangled by long chains of effects that you generally have
no way to know what it sounded like dry. In other words, no samples with
complicated licensing issues were used as a source.
Regardless, I provide absolutely no warranty about their copyright status and I
disclaim all liability about pretty much everything people generally disclaim
liability about.
In general, each file contains a long performance of variations on a specific way
of making some noise. You'll want to load them in a media player such as Winamp
for convenient auditioning. The files are in FLAC, a lossless open format that is
easy to work with and convert to whatever format you want.
If you do not know how to edit audio files, you'll want to download [Audacity][]
and read their wiki. I won't provide help myself.

Usage conditions (tl;dr: none)
------------------------------
Because I live in a country that does not allow me to explicitly grant stuff to
the public domain, I have to resort to licensing these sounds under the CC0
license, which does pretty much the same thing according to lawyers:
<http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/>
This authorization obviously does not extend to any of my other works.
No credit is required nor expected if you use these sounds. In fact, if you insist
to credit me, ask me first if that's OK with me: I don't want to see my name
associated with unsavory stuff.
However, **I insist you tell me if you use them in a free or commercial product**.
I do not systematically record this sort of stuff, but I will if other people find
it good enough to use. Check <http://savioz.com/sfx/> to see if I've done more
(they will be released under similar terms).

Je trouve certains sons assez stimulants
